the scene is familiar.. a jehovah's witness family with one member who has awakened from the lie.. the split comes down to an interesting wrong terminology:.
unbelieving mate vs believing mate.. .
the context of the entire family is as a jehovah's witness family.. damage has already been done.
Two years of tip-toeing, seed planting, and keeping my elder hat saved my marriage and got us all out relatively unscathed.
It's not for everyone, but it's a path that can be tried FIRST, and then when the awakened partner can't take it anymore....
TAKE NO PRISONERS!!!!
My $.02.

i'm not sure if this is the correct place to put this, but here goes.. i've posted a few times before about different subjects.
in some of those posts ive mentioned that im gay, and in others ive referred to my wife and kids.
i thought id share a bit more information to any who were curious about this.
Wow! Your family really dodged quite a few painful WT land mines over the years.
Thanks for sharing the happy finale with us.

Sophie, it sounds like you have a problem accepting direction from Divinely constituted authority figures.
You'll fit right in around here!

my inspiration comes from the ingredients i have at hand, very often leftovers, and also home grown produce, herbs and spices.
i still have a lot to learn, but i have come a long way since i first started cooking for mr cedars.. i think the first recipe on this thread should by the one that oodad has posted on other thread.... .
shrimp scampi.
@ 00Dad: Re: Cedar Plank Salmon, excellent idea to expose one side of the plank to the heat for 3 minutes, then flip the plank and put the salmon on the now-heat-sterilized side of the plank. Not doing that has always made me a little bit leary as far as food safety goes. Although, we've done it for years and never gotten sick, (cedar probably has inherent anti-microbial properties), I think I'll start doing that from here on out.
Thanks,

In honor of the Cedar's family, I offer up:
CEDAR PLANK SALMON:
The key to this recipe is getting a cedar plank that has not been treated with any chemicals. DO NOT just go get a piece of cedar fence material. I've had several lumber yards tell me they are chemically treated and that you can't tell by looking. Who knows? It might just be a scam so that the cedar plank cooking suppliers can charge exorbitant prices, (and they do).
Anyway, you want a plank big enough to set a salmon fillet on. Typically, 6 inches wide by 18 inches long by 3/8-1/2 inch thick. Soak the plank in water for at least a few hours. Make sure to weigh it down with something to speed the soaking process.
Prepare the fillet however you would for baked salmon. We usually do a little salt and olive oil with lemon slices. (Google "Baked Salmon" and you'll have at least 30 ideas). Lay the fillet on the plank. (If it still has skin on it, put the skin side down on the plank) Set the plank onto a barbecue grill, preferably charcoal, but gas on low heat is OK too. Leave it there for 20-35 minutes. Don't turn it. The bottom of the plank will get charred and give off smoke. Essentially you are baking it and smoking it at the same time.
Remove plank and salmon all together as one piece. Serve.
Bon Appetit'

i just thought you should know that mrs cedars has finally taken the plunge and joined the forum.
she was able to log on for the first time yesterday.. though we both "awakened" at different stages, mrs cedars was very supportive and non-judgmental when i first began exploring my beliefs from a critical standpoint.
she is currently in the process of reading crisis of conscience and aquainting herself with some of the facts of witness history that were hitherto unknown.
Welcome Mrs. Cedars!
Bon Apetit!!

my son came to visit today, he and i are getting a lot closer since he left his jw home and thanks largely to his mother and step father alienating him big time.
he needs one of his parents to help him out at times and he can't turn to his mother.
thats sad but its her loss, and his i guess.. anyway, he recently got himself a girlfriend, a worldly girl at that.
Music to my ears.
Good on ya'!

congrats to bradley wiggins and to all the brits on the board!.
i'm rooting for three riders this year.
2 have a very realistic chance.
Diest: "Wait till Ender Wiggins gets involved."
At that point I think it would most likely be Ender's game.
BTW, happy Bastille Day to any French friends here!!!
